The SiT – Sustainability in TCLF project responds to a critical need within the Textile, Clothing, Leather, and Footwear (TCLF) industry to adopt more sustainable and circular practices. Despite its economic importance, the TCLF sector remains a significant contributor to environmental pollution, with issues such as high resource consumption, waste production, and complex global supply chains. In response to these challenges, the SiT project aims to redefine the future of the TCLF industry through comprehensive education and training initiatives.
In collaboration with 15 partners across 8 EU countries, SiT brings together a diverse consortium of vocational education, higher education, and industry leaders. This initiative seeks to close the skills gap in green practices, by developing a workforce that is familiar with sustainable production methods, circular economy principles, and digital skills. By integrating cutting-edge curricula and developing practical learning resources, the SiT project equips learners and professionals with the tools to contribute to a greener TCLF sector. This aligns with the EU’s broader objectives of reducing environmental impacts, increasing industrial resilience and supporting the transition to a green economy across Europe.
