The EASY4DIGIT project is a response to the rapid development and increasing importance of digital technologies in the agricultural sector. As the world faces the dual challenges of climate change and the need for sustainable food production, the agricultural industry must adapt by embracing precision farming techniques and digital tools. However, many farmers and agricultural professionals lack the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively implement these technologies.
EASY4DIGIT aims to address this gap by developing a comprehensive digital training framework specifically tailored to the agricultural sector. The project recognises that the integration of digital tools—such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and Decision Support Systems (DSS)—can revolutionise agricultural practices by making them more efficient, sustainable, and responsive to environmental changes.
This initiative is particularly relevant as it aligns with the European Union’s Green Deal and Farm-to-Fork strategies, which aim to make the EU climate-neutral by 2050 and promote sustainable food systems. By equipping farmers, agrifood professionals, and vocational students with the tools and knowledge needed to use these technologies, EASY4DIGIT will not only enhances agricultural productivity but also contribute to broader environmental goals, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and protecting natural resources.
