The EDIGIT project is a European initiative that aims to link STEM education, digital literacy and social inclusion. As digitalisation reshapes society, it is essential to ensure that technology is accessible to all. However, people with disabilities (PwD) often face barriers due to a lack of inclusivity in technology design. EDIGIT addresses this gap by integrating accessibility principles into STEM education, equipping future ICT professionals with the skills and awareness needed to develop inclusive digital solutions.
The project focuses on equipping teachers with the tools to introduce inclusion approaches as a core component of STEM subjects. Through thematic training modules, teachers will be provided with practical resources to promote inclusion values, increase accessibility awareness and encourage students to pursue responsible STEM careers. In addition, a series of hands-on workshops will enable students and people with disabilities to collaborate on technological solutions, fostering a deeper understanding of accessibility challenges and social responsibility.
By strengthening collaboration between the education, disability care, and technology sectors, EDIGIT seeks to raise awareness, equip educators, and inspire future professionals to build a more inclusive digital world. Ultimately, the project contributes to a society where innovation benefits everyone, regardless of ability.
